This post is going to be a little different. It's going to be a depressing post because our teacher wants us to be sad and write about death. But since my topic is about The Weeknd, I couldn't think about who died in his life. Then it came to me. One of his inspirations had passed away a couple years ago. This artist was known and loved by everyone. In some of songs from The Weeknd, you can hear his voice is similar to Michael Jackson. The King of Pop influenced many, including The Weeknd. Michael Jackson was known for his incredible voice and amazing dance moves. The music industry lost an amazing pop singer on June 25, 2009.  The King of Pop died from cardiac arrest. Everyone mourned his loss. Years later, The Weeknd released a cover of Michael's song called Dirty Diana. When I first heard his cover, I actually thought it was Michael but it was slightly different. Now when you hear songs from The Weeknd, you can hear a Michael Jackson tone to his songs. He wants his fans to know that his songs are for us and if anything happened to him, it would be like a piece of us is gone and that's what Michael did to him. That's what Michael made him feel. The Weeknd is grabbing that side of him and putting it out to the world. The Weeknd said that since kids these days don't have artists like Michael, he wants to have that tone in his music. Hopefully, the next post is uplifting, not really but it's not depressing. RIP The King of Pop.
